When an artist is being vulnerable, and exposing themselves to the outside world, it makes their work that much more powerful and unique. I felt very vulnerable during this presentation. I decided to do something deep and personal to me. I looked at my list of influential artists and stories and saw there was a pattern that I could share. Each of my influential stories had a duality about them. A constant war of good vs evil. This was present in my favorite tragedy story of Anakin Skywalker. In my favorite character of all time, Zuko. Finally, in my favorite story of redemption, Alma the younger. I was wary of the ideas that were forming, for I know far out blended projects can be made poorly. It’s deeply affected by our perceived audience as mentioned in Danah Boyd’s chapter from It’s Complicated The Social Lives of Networked Teens. Having just read this chapter as I sought for a good representation of me, made me hesitate. I thought of discussing my being white, as I often first think of that when considering identity nowadays, but I was wary of my potential audience and was worried my portrayal might be off. My sense of the English language has never been strong, and I often struggle with finding meaning from the particular skill of reading lyric. However, after the exercises we took in class to carefully analyze the Spinning Plates lyrics, I found myself completely able to visualize something fresh and new. I took an old song that I always found impactful in peaceful moments and reread it-isolating it from its origins in a television show. I found in the lyrics a constant theme of home. THE GIF OF THE STORY       This semester's discussions have brought me to ponder deeply on an experience I had a few years ago. At the time, I was really into this game called Red Dead Redemption 2. It's a virtual world that places you into the age and world of the western frontier. This game allows me to exit this world and virtually explore a stunning 3d space that is far away from here. It’s also a game about good and evil choices, but that is not where the value of this game lies with me. I found myself playing this game all the time and just enjoying riding around in the mountainous regions. Exploring all the nook and crannies I could find and hunting digital game. The Music Mosaic

Music Mosaic The song I chose for this assignment is “Southern” by Sleeping at Last, you can find it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v11QQrQeQjY . Upon going through the album, this specific song stuck out to me. It had a powerful impression on my mind and expresses a journey taking place. There is wonder and beauty in the voyage, and at the end of the song, an even better destination.   Each note, while part of the whole piece of music, is distinctive and soft. This made me think about how that applies to us and the human race. We are, each of us, distinctive beings that make a difference in our friends’ and families’ lives. When looking at the greater whole, we are each quiet and soft. However that does not diminish our importance or distinctiveness. With all of us together, we are a beautiful piece of work.
